The White paper: So What? seminar

We are hosting a seminar on 29 May in London where experts from Pinsent Masons and Capita Employee Solutions will address the potential solutions covered in the Government's latest White Paper about some of the biggest questions facing sponsors, trustees and members of the UK’s remaining Defined Benefit pension schemes. During this event we will help you understand how these will impact you and your scheme.

The seminar will cover:

Session 1: The Regulator gets tougher
How will plans for the Regulator’s increased information gathering powers, new notification and reporting requirements, fines and criminal offences affect you?

Session 2: Scheme Funding: How can it be improved? The Government believes that the Scheme Funding framework works well, but there needs to be more focus on long-term objectives and aims to provide greater clarity around its expectations. Will the new plans achieve this without returning to the MFR?

Session 3: Consolidation of schemes. The DB sector has a large number of small schemes unable to take full advantage of economies of scale and risk reduction opportunities. Are new consolidation vehicles the answer? And how would they work in practice? Could they be what trustees and sponsors have been waiting for, or are campaigners now pursuing a different agenda?
