Chairman of the Board
Alan brings a wealth of experience and an executive track record of getting things done, qualities that make him an obvious choice to chair our trustee board.
He has worked in a variety of senior roles in the pension industry – including roles at two of the largest global pension firms – as UK Chief Executive of Mercer and European Managing Partner at Watson Wyatt (now Towers Watson).
Today, he holds several key positions; he’s Chairman of Wealth at Work, a leading provider of financial education and advice in the workplace, Chairman of the management board at the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, a Trustee of the British Coal Staff Superannuation Scheme and a member of the Council of the Pensions Management Institute.
Testament to his pension experience, Alan played an advisory role in helping to create the National Employment Savings Trust (NEST), the pension scheme established to help smaller employers and firms with low-paid employees meet their pension obligations under the automatic enrolment reforms.
